Elsie Cue Davis Stringer, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 1, 2026. She was born on December 17, 1942, in Franklin County, Texas, to the late Park and Bobbie Davis.

Elsie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John “Tommy” Stringer; her infant son, Jonathan Dean Stringer; her parents, Park and Bobbie Davis; and her sister, Ouida Marshall.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her sons, David Stringer (Robin) and Jonathan Stephen Stringer (Kristin); her grandchildren, Amira Hall (Kasey), Brandon Stringer, Rachel Stringer (Spencer Austin), Evan Stringer (Rose), Bryan Stringer, Brantley Stringer (Alanna), Natalia Spencer (Eli), David Stringer II (Madeline), and Jonah Stringer (Mary Grace Apostol); and her great-grandchildren, Abigail, Matthew, Elizabeth, Caleb, Enzo, and Salem. She is also survived by her brothers, Ed Davis and Jimme Davis; her sister, Maxine Branum; her in-laws, Carolyn Stringer, Donald and Dorothy Stringer, James Stringer, and Elaine Stringer; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Elsie was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and spent her career working in banking before retiring.

Elsie loved deeply and unconditionally. Those who knew her will remember her most for her fierce and steadfast love. She was brave and fearless, never hesitating to embrace adventure. Her compassion always led her to be among the first to respond when someone was in need, offering her help, her strength, and her heart without hesitation. Most importantly, she loved Jesus, and she sought to reflect that same unconditional love and compassion toward others.

Her family will forever carry her tenacity, her strength, her courage, her adventurous spirit, and, above all, her incredible capacity to love. Though she will be deeply missed, they find comfort knowing that she is now home with the Lord she loved so dearly.

A memorial service honoring Elsie’s life will be held in Texas at a later date.
