Michael Caroll Runion, age 80, passed away on May 3, 2026. He was born on September 11, 1945, to parents Carroll Scott Runion and Mary Waldrop Runion. Mike graduated from Lanier High School in the Class of ’64. He began his working career driving trucks and then as a machinist at Rockford Manufacturing; retiring after 30+ years. In his retirement days, Mike could be found at Hill and Fields Car lot detailing cars, playing cards or bowling with friends. Mike loved everything about cars, especially autobody and detailing. No one could pin stripe a car like Uncle Mike. One of his favorite pastimes was wandering around junkyards with his nephews. Mike was a beloved Uncle to Becky, Tommy, Robert, David, Kenny, Teresa, John, Christy, and numerous great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Helen; nephew Tommy; and brother-in-law Kenneth. Mike is survived by his beloved only child, Tina Kay and granddaughter Jessica. Tina states she is forever grateful to have had a loving Dad and couldn’t have asked for a better Dad. Mike is also survived by his sister Linda Runion Arwood who states she not only lost a brother, but her best friend.
