Surrounded by her family, Mary Ellen Cook of Maryville, passed away peacefully at home on October 8th.

Mary was born in Mount Pleasant, Michigan on February 7,1944. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and later graduated with a nursing degree from Mid Michigan Community College. Mary married John Cook on November 2,1963, who survives. She is also survived by her children Becky (Tom), Aimee (Chad) and John (Angie), nine grandchildren and four great granddaughters.

Mary was a brilliant woman, loving wife, devoted mother, and precious grand and great grandmother. Her love touched so many lives which was also evident in her nursing career. She was always a source of comfort, a heart full of compassion and a light in the lives of everyone that had the opportunity to know her.

She spent her life caring for others. Now we gather to care for the memory of her.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on October 25th at 3:00 pm at Grandview Pavillion, 2316 Graves Road, Maryville TN 37803.

Your presence, love, and support would mean so much to our family as we gather to remember a remarkable woman whose love knew no limits and whose caring heart made a difference in this world.

Rest well, Mama. You spent your life being there for others. You were loved more than words can say and you will forever be missed. Your work here is done, but your love will live on forever.
