Obituary

Jenny Rossetter Musen, age 86, of Maryville, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026.

Born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and raised in Smiths Grove, Kentucky, Jenny lived a life marked by faith, service, and devotion to her family. She graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1962 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Education, a foundation that reflected her lifelong love of learning and communication.

Jenny was married for 61 years to her beloved husband, James D. Musen, who preceded her in death. Together, they answered God’s call in 1969 to serve as missionaries with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board in Kenya. Their years of faithful ministry touched countless lives, and even after retiring in 2001, Jenny continued to serve wholeheartedly in her church families at Jonesville Baptist Church in Newberry FL, Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in High Springs FL, Brookside Baptist Church in Reynoldsburg OH, Gethsemane Baptist Church in Greenback TN, and First Baptist Church in Maryville TN.

She was a devoted mother to Steve Musen (Denise), Don Musen (Luzette), and Holly Ǫueener (Kenny). She was a cherished Nyanya (grandmother) to Addison Forras (Cameron), Alayna Dorrell (Jacob), Alec Echeverria (Ricky), Kes Niblack (Justin), Amber Blair (Jacob), and Daniel Musen, and a joyful Grand-Nyanya to Breydin, August, Maya, Robby, Eddie, Leo, Archie, Joseph, and Eli.

Jenny will be remembered for her steadfast faith, gentle spirit, and the legacy of love and service she leaves behind. Her life reflected her deep commitment to Christ and her desire to serve others, both across the world and within her own community.

A graveside service will be held in May at Smiths Grove Cemetery, with details to be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions, continuing the mission work that was so dear to Jenny’s heart: Lottie Moon Offering
