Charles David “Chuck” Cook passed away August 5, 2026. Chuck was born February 16, 1977, in Salem, Oregon to the late David Charles and Karen Jacobs Cook. Chuck earned his AA in Electrical Engineering at Chemeketa Community College. He worked for more than 22 years with Lam Research and spent much of his free time as a knifemaker. Chuck was a part of Redeemed Steel, was a contestant on Forged in Fire, was a Knifemakers Guild voting member, and was a Journeyman Smith. Chuck had knowledge about a lot of things, and in everything he did, he gave his all. He looked for criticism from folks he admired to better himself. The thing he was most proud of in life was being adopted by the King of Kings. He is preceded in death not only by his parents, but by his brother-in-law Wesley W. Groat and his father-in-law Wesley M. Groat. Chuck is survived by his wife Shirliann Goat Cook; his sons Wesley J. Cook and David C. Cook; and his sister Suzanne R. Cook. Chuck’s Celebration of Life service will be held in Reedsport, Oregon at a time and date to be determined.
