Barbara S. Frye

Barbara S. Frye, age 77, passed away September 8, 2023, surrounded by her family. Born June 10, 1946, Barbara was a retired Lab Tech from Sperry in Florida. She loved Cades Cove and wildlife, had a passion for getting daily updates on rescued bears via Appalachian Bear Rescue, playing Bingo, and spending time with her family.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Georgia Shadan. She is survived by sister Margaret (Patrick) Meere, nephews Ron (Cathy) Talbott and Patrick (Carole) Meere, niece Noreen (Robert) Freyer, great-nephews Steven Talbott, Connor Meere, and Collin Freyer, great-niece Haley Haworth, and three fur babies Phoenix, Jane, and Olivier. No services are planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Barbara’s name to her favorite charity, Appalachian Bear Rescue.
