Susan Starnes Sloan-Pope

Susan passed away from stage 4 cancer at age 65 on November 5, 2018. She is survived by her brother John W. (Bill) Starnes & wife Becky Starnes. Husband and soulmate of 29 years, John E. Pope. Daughter, Mary E. (Beth) DeNise & husband Robert DeNise, and son, Benjamin Sloan & wife Miranda Sloan. Step-children, Kara P. Jones, Dr. John M. Pope, Richard (Rick) D. Pope & wife Bethany Pope, David A. Pope & wife Sara Pope, and her nine grand-children. Preceded in death by mother Gwen Gallant Starnes, and father William B. Starnes. Susan had a very successful real estate career of more than 30 years in the Tellico Village area. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, co-workers, and clients. In lieu of flowers, she has requested donations to the American Society of Cancer. Receiving of friends will be at 1:00 PM Saturday November 10, 2018 at Blount Community Church, 1533 West Lamar Alexander Parkway, Maryville.
