Randy Lawson White, a generous, caring, Christian man passed away on July 10, 2023 surrounded by his family at home, 11 days before his 81st birthday. He was born on July 21st, 1942 in Blount County to, now deceased, Carl and Gladys White. He was a 1960 graduate of Walland High School.
He was a man of many talents. He was an avid hiker, fisherman, artist, songwriter, singer Christian music entertainer, barber, and fireman. He obtained a private pilots license with an instrument rating and enjoyed many hours of flying. He was also a member of the Army National Guard in the 1960’s. He retired from the City of Alcoa Fire Department as a lieutenant after 25 years of service and had many life-long friends established from working with such a brotherhood of firefighters.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Pat Williams White, sons Scott White (Beth) of Maryville, Jeff White of Oklahoma City, and daughter, Lisa White Axley (Scott) of Maryville. Grandchildren Cory White, Kaci White Eakens (Caleb), Evan Thomas, Taylor Thomas, Jake Thomas, Alex White, Christian Bozarth, Taylor Bozarth (Kellie), Hunter Nokes, and Rebekah Axley. Great Grandchildren Raegan Thomas, Porter Eakens, and Griffin Bozarth. Sisters, Linda Bryant (Johnny) and Vicki Hickman (David) of Maryville. Brother Chris White (Kim) of Seymour. He’s also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews and Mike Webb of Amelia, Ohio, a special cousin who was like a brother who shared his love for the Smokey Mountains.
Special thanks to caregiver Lisa Davids and the University of Tennessee Medical Center Hospice Program. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 14th at the Smithview Pavilion (601 Smithview Drive, Maryville) with a brief service beginning at 5:00pm followed by fellowship until 7:00pm.
