Mary Catherine Allen Thacker, born Mary Catherine Meadows, known affectionately to her family and friends as Mary, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, at the age of 78 in her tranquil Walland, Tennessee residence, surrounded by the love and warmth of her beloved family. Born on April 28, 1947,in Cincinnati, Ohio, Mary lived a life that was the very embodiment of faith, love, and selflessness.

Mary's journey in Tennessee was marked with significant achievements and contributions. Pioneering as the first female to hold a state contract in Tennessee, she displayed her entrepreneurial spirit and unyielding tenacity. Making her mark in the business world, Mary was the proud owner of a Native American store, Sacred Paths, in Townsend that became a bastion for local culture and tradition. Her gift for designing exquisite jewelry was not only a testament to her artistic talents but also a labor of love that she poured her heart into.

But beyond her business endeavors, it was Mary's spiritual nature and boundless capacity for love that truly defined her. She lived her spirituality not just as a belief system but as a tangible demonstration of her values, touching others with her generosity and kindness. At the heart of her life were her cherished children: Rhonda Earles and her husband Bill, Kathy Young, Gregory Allen, Jonathan Allen, Tina McMurray, and Larry Thacker. Mary dedicated her life to her family, her community, and to the service of those around her. She was a proud member of the Mormon church. Her faith in God never wavered.
