Maryville, TN – Jeffrey Arthur Witt passed away Friday, June 2nd, 2017 at his home in Maryville, TN after a battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his wife of 16 years Deanna Witt; his daughter Tracy (Brandon) Byrkit of Fort Mill, SC, step-daughters Tiffany Murphy of Knoxville, Tn, Andrea (David) Thrasher, and Katheryne Norton both of Maryville, Tn. Five step-grandchildren, Tyler Goins, Alexis Padgett, Allyson Padgett, Jordan Thrasher and David Thrasher. And his beloved Penny the Pomeranian. Born and raised in Elgin, Illinois Jeff was a graduate of Dundee High School after completing high school Jeff enlisted in the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. After being honorably discharged from military service Jeff came back to the States and started his career in the produce industry with A&P Grocers in Chicago, Illinois. With a strong business sense and hard work Jeff made personal connections with all those he worked with. His last position with United Grocery Outlet had him overseeing the produce department for their chain of stores in the southeast. A Husband, Father, Friend, Veteran, and businessman Jeff was loved by all those who knew him. He had a passion for sports, and was thrilled to see the Chicago Cubs win the 2016 World Series. A Celebration of Life in honor of Jeffrey will be held Wednesday June 7th, 6pm-9pm at the Holiday Inn World’s Fair Park, Windows on the Park Lounge, 525 Henley St., in Downtown Knoxville.
