Jean Olszewski of Bean Station, TN, passed away on August 10, 2019. Jean was born June 14, 1957, in Grand Rapids, MI. After moving to Kalamazoo in 1965 with her family, she met Don DeLong, the love of her life, and married in 1982. They moved to Maryville, Tennessee in 1989, where Jean continued her incredible career as a seamstress. Jean’s love of sewing, brought her to working with leather, where she opened Foothill Leather, performing tailoring, alterations, and restorations. Family and friends were most important to Jean. She is preceded in death by her husband, Don DeLong, and her parents, Stan and Betty (Giddings) Olszewski, of Zephyrhills, FL, and sister, Jill Amos, of Coral Springs, FL. Jean is survived by her loving daughter, Josie DeLong, of Philadelphia, PA. Jean is also survived by her siblings, Michael (Liddy) Olszewski, Patricia Melin, and Judy (Francis) O’Connor, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many faithful friends. Jean will be most fondly remembered for her enthusiastic personality and her amusing, spontaneous bursts of laughter. Jean was a loving, dedicated wife and an exceptional mother. Jean was a true blessing to all who knew her. Interment will take place at a later date at Grandview Cemetery, Maryville, TN.
