Mr. Harold Randall "Randy" Moats

October 12, 1962 — August 28, 2017

Harold Randall “Randy” Moats Oct. 12, 1962-Aug. 28, 2017. Randy is best remembered as a gracious southern gentleman who was unfailing kind and exceedingly loyal to those he loved. Randy was born in Maryville, Tennessee October 12, 1962 to Harold E. Moats and Lula Belle Cope. His father and he shared a love of automobiles from an early age. After attending Everett High School where Randy was a member of the Everett High Bulldog Band, he graduated from Heritage High School in 1980. For many years he was a dealership parts counter rep for Ford parts at the Alcoa Highway location. His reputation preceded him for being able to recall part numbers without the aid of a book or prompt. His brain was a computer for automobile information. Still working in his lifelong passion dealing with cars his next position was an insurance adjuster. He belonged to the Antique Automobile Club of America. He was not only a member of this club, but also judged shows across the country which gave him great pleasure. From a young age all things old were dear to him. People, toys, times, events and preservation of all things in the past were a passion for Randy. From attending auctions to bid on pieces of local history to spending time with Bradley Reeves with TAMIS, Randy devoted his time and his heart to all things old. His favorite pastime though was always his antique cars. Randy is survived by his fiancée Anita Neubert Young and her son Kirk Young. Left to share his memory are also his aunts, uncles and special friends that are considered family along with neighbors that were so dear to him. He was preceded in death by his father Harold E Moats, mother Lula Belle Cope, grandparents Kyle and Sarah “Sis” Cope and Sam and Linnie Moats. A Celebration of Randy’s life will be held Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 2-4 pm at TNBank, 1311 W Lamar Alexander Parkway, Maryville, TN 37801. In lieu of flowers please come prepared to share your memories of Randy as we celebrate the life of a southern gentleman gone too soon.
