Glen "Charles" Ledbetter

Glen "Charles" Ledbetter was born November 20, 1931 in Townsend, TN. He passed away July 21, 2023 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Lizzie Ledbetter; in-laws, Ernest and Mildred Carnes; sister, Betty Burns; brothers-in-law, John Phillip Burns and Jack Webb; nephew, Stacey Burns. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Joyce Ledbetter; son, Rick Ledbetter (Anna); daughter, Teresa Loy (Joel); sister, Joan Webb; brother-in-law, Dale Carnes; grandchildren, Sondra Eikenberry (Mark), Monica Rutledge (Josh), Angela Moore (Shawn); 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Charles enjoyed his four years in the U.S. Navy where he earned the rank of Petty Officer Third Class and worked as a Corpsman. Following his Navy years, Charles went to work at Blount Memorial Hospital as a surgery tech for a couple of years.  He then worked at Archer Aluminum Company in Winston Salem, NC and later retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company after 28 years. He enjoyed playing his guitar and banjo with family, friends, and Mountain Gap Band. Many thanks to those folks who helped Charles and his family through the years and were always there when needed.

Memorial donations may be made to a local animal rescue organization, Rocky Branch Community Club, Inc., or Bethel Baptist Church.  No arrangements for services have been made at this time.
