Darrell Wayne Priddy

November 10, 1955 — March 17, 2022

Darrell Wayne Priddy, age 66, of Alcoa, formerly of Louisville, KY, went home to be with The Lord Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the family home. He was a graduate of Fairdale High School class of 1974, and was an active Railroader for 45 years since 1974, first with L & N Railroad and then with R.J. Corman Railroad. He was with J.R.C. Railroad in Knoxville for the last two years. He was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed boating and fishing, but mostly spending time with his wife, family, children, and grandchildren. He was quick witted and full of sarcasm. He was an immediate friend to whoever he met. He was very active in his children and grandchildren’s lives. He adored his pet “Baby Girl” who never left his side during his sickness. He loved country music and oldies. He was loved by his siblings as their baby brother. The Lord had given Darrell a vision of working with the homeless buying and delivering umbrellas to the Knoxville area. The ministry grew by adding blankets and snacks. It is asked that you carry an extra blanket and umbrella for anyone in need in Darrell’s memory. Darrell and his wife enjoyed watching Parkwest Church online every Sunday; Preceded in death by his parents, James Dellard and Agnes Priddy; sister, Jo Ann (Jim) Johnson; and father-in-law, Austin Dailey; Survived by his wife and love of his life, Tonia Dailey Priddy; daughters and sons-in-law, Amber (Chris) Ervin of Bardstown, KY, Kellie Jo (Josh) Cash of Campbellsville, KY, Lacey (Steven) Reynolds of Lebanon, KY; grandchildren, Kaileigh, Peyton, Paisley, Paxton, Parker, Jaicee, Kenslee, Aubree, and Case; special mention for Whitney (Nick) Winston, Michaela (Jason) Dotsch, Stephen Russell; special mention bonus grandchildren, Brayleigh, Wesley, Karlee, Faith, Wesley W., Clark, Hailey, and Aiden; special friends, Larry Pruitt, Tommy Bellamy, Aline, Melody, Adrianne, April, Melinda, Warren, and Wiley; sisters; Joyce (Allan), Donna (Jeff), Polly (Narvel), Shirley (Jerry), Betty (Terry), Tonya (Scott); brother Jimmy (Debbie); special shout out to many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much; sister-in-law, Micki (Larry); mother-in-law, Nancy Dailey; Darrell's favorite quote: "You can grow old, just not up." Special thanks to the staff of UT Hospice for their care and compassion, especially Chandra Garland. Memorial service will be held at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home, Louisville, KY, on March 27, 2022 from 2:00 until 4:00pm with the service at 4:00pm with Rev. Tommy Bellamy officiating. A celebration of life will be held on April 9, 2022 at 2:00pm at Sam Houston School House, Maryville, TN. For the celebration of life, please dress casually, bring a chair, and be prepared to share stories and a meal. For both events, a designated drop-off will be provided for blankets or umbrellas in memory of Darrell.
