Christopher Todd Brown was born on February 5, 1976 in Chico, California to Richard and Judith Brown. Chris was born with a congenital heart defect known as transposition of the great vessels. As a newborn, he was airlifted to Stanford where he received life saving open heart surgery. This never slowed Chris down.
He loved going on adventures with his family, including visiting Cades Cove for the first time just one day before his untimely death. He loved craft beer (especially Sierra Nevada), cooking, reading James Patterson novels, collecting Hot Wheels, building Lego creations with his kids (and sometimes without), and playing video games. Most of all, he loved his children and took great pleasure in attending their events throughout the years. He was so proud of them all.
Growing up in Chico, Chris attended Chico Christian School, Bidwell Jr. High, and graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 1994. He was hoping to attend his 30th class reunion in August. He went on to attend Chico State where he received his bachelor's degree in Political Science, with a minor in International Relations. Chris was a people person. He worked a variety of jobs where he helped a lot of people. His wife affectionately called him "The Fixer." He worked at Butte County Social Services, had numerous property manager positions, was the director of an assisted living home, and had recently started his own business dealing in mobile homes.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Richard Brown, and his father-in-law, Jim Sampson.
He is survived by his wife, Julie, and their four beautiful children, Natalia, Isabella, Colton, and Evelyn, his brother Rich (Mistie) Brown, mother-in-law Jan Sampson, sister-in-law Jacquie (John) Klimsza, brothers-in-law Jamie (Stephanie) Sampson and Joe Sampson, nephews Austin (Carolyn) Brown, Ryan (Marie) Klimsza, Adam Klimsza, and Jason Klimsza, nieces Ashley Brown and Althea Sampson, great-nephew Banks Brown, great-niece Magdalena Klimsza, and his mother, Judith Brown.
