Sue Etta Shields Underwood August 3 1944 - April 12 2016 – of Maryville, TN, Entered into eternity to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus on April 12, 2016 in her 71th year. Celebration of Life will be held in Cades Cove, TN. at 10:00am August 27, 2016 meeting at the gate entrance to Cades Cove loop. We will be scattering her ashes in Cades Cove as per her wishes, birthplace of her father, Opha Elza Shields. Kathy Potter will be giving the eulogy. She is survived by her children: MaryKatherine Levens of Maryville, TN, Antony Curtis Levens and his wife Janet Levens of Ohatchee, AL and Christina Marie Levens of Maryville, TN, Michael Lee Ziegler and Robert Edwards Ziegler (twins), Andrew Garfield Ziegler, and David Wayne Ziegler. Grandchildren of: Donna Renea Levens of Ohatchee, AL, Jeffrey Allen Levens of Ohatchee, AL, Kayla Beth Levens of Ohatchee, AL, Jesse Rene Levens of Maryville, TN and Ashley Lynn Levens of Maryville, TN. Loving sister Nellie Katherine Shields Levens and her husband, Kenneth Audrey Levens of Ohatchee, AL, brother, Frederick Garfield Shields of Maryville, TN, Sheila Ann Shields Tolson of Decatur, IL, and Linda Gail Shields Dorn and her husband Bill Dorn of Maryville, TN. Remembered by Cousins: Ruth Evenly Dunlap Brackett, Ronald Dunlap, Margie Willocks Campbell, Daisy Willocks Martin and many others. Nieces and nephews: Sandra Kay Campbell Deiderich and her husband Michael H. Deiderich Jr., Jody Wayne Campbell, Rachel Lynn Campbell Moore, Leonard Hasting Campbell Jr. Frederick Garfield Shields Jr., Michael H. Deiderich III, Edward Michael Deiderich, Keith Brackett, Sharon Brackett, Autumn Brooke Shields and Logan Isaiah Shields. Preceded in death by her parents, Opha Elza Shields of (Cades Cove, TN) Maryville, TN and Minnie Bell Willocks Shields of Maryville, TN, and her son: Bobby (Robert) Shields, her sister: Margie Rebecca Shields, Barbara Jean Shields Campbell and brother: Terry Lee Shields, Niece: Minnie Tolson, and Nephew: Billy Ray Tolson. Also remember by her long time elementary classmate friend, Jean Hurst and her good friends: Kathy Potter, Ann Chambers, Nancy Bishop and Jim Waters. Sue loved Cades Cove the birthplace of her father. She always looked forward going to the Spring Festival and the Old Timers Day in Cades Cove each year. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas and the Christmas Spirit of it in celebrating the birth of Christ; you could always her Christmas music playing throughout her home pertaining to her Lord. Sue had a big smile and many of times folks would compliment on her smile, had a very outgoing personality, and had no problem making new friends. She also liked gathering around the table with family and friends to listen to stories and jokes. They are not profound, but they have stayed with me through life, and when I am very old, they will still be near.
