Mr. R. Gary Kemp

R. Gary Kemp, 79, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018, in Maryville, TN. Gary was born April 7, 1939 in Mansfield, OH. He lived Greene County for many years and was a resident of Blount County. He was retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He was of the Lutheran Faith. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Louise Kemp and brother Russell Kemp. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, “Sam” D. J. Kemp; sister and brother-in-law Judy and Carl Schroeder of Pasco, WA; daughter Lynette Martin of Knox; step-son Brian Pirtle and wife Laura of FL; grandson-son Jonathan Pirtle of Maryville, grandson Garrett Martin of Knox, and granddaughter Samantha Pirtle. Gary’s family would like to extend a special thanks to his very special friends Nick and Sara Valk and Charlie Cooper, his friends at Olympia Gym, especially Melanie, Monica, Lois and Bo; UT Home Health Care; Amedisys Hospice and DaVita Blount Dialysis. A Memorial Service for friends and family will be held at the Life event Center, 1404 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN, 37803 on Saturday, the 17th of November, 2018 from 2-4pm.
