Mr. Larry L. Breedlove

September 8, 1953 — January 31, 2022

Breedlove, Larry L-age 68-of Maryville, Tn. died on Jan. 31,2022. Larry was born on Sept. 8, 1953 to the late Ralph & Virginia (Hitch) Breedlove. Additionally, preceding him in death were Eugene, an infant brother & mother-in-law, Lois Hicks. If you knew Larry, you knew that he had 4 great loves in life: God, family, farming, & safety practices. He worked for ALCOA/Arconic for 39 ½ years. Larry started his career there on Apr. 24, 1978. He worked in the Potroom dept. as a Tapper Anode Changer & crane operator. Then Larry worked as a castor at the South Plant. He moved to the North Plant & finished his career on Feb. 1, 2017. Larry served as a Union Safety & Health representative-which allowed him to represent his co-workers so that all would have a safe workplace. Larry’s faith was extremely important to him. He was a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church. Most of his Christian service was done quietly and behind the scenes from maintenance projects at the church to mission trips to S.D. & AL. His children describe him w/these terms: strong, kind, steadfast, humble, gentle, creative, & loving. “Popo” was the name that his 1st grandchild gave him & so it stuck. Popo loved having his family around him at any time, but more so when it was time spent on the family farm. With the arrival of his grandchildren, there are now 5 generations of Larry’s family growing up around farming. His family deeply mourns his passing, they know that he’s not lost, because they know where he is & that he is at peace! Survivors include his wife of over 46 years – Christy, daughter-Jessie (James Michael) Eblen, son-Jake (Jessica) Breedlove; grandchildren – Cora, Reed, Henry, Charlie, Lincoln, & Ensley; brother-in-law – Bubba Banton,; siblings-Wayne, Judy, & Tom; several nieces/nephews; & numerous cousins. A private service was held on the family farm for his immediate family. Rev. Jerry Mantooth & Rev. Bob Dalton led it. A public Life Celebration will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has established 2 ways to honor Larry’s life. (1) Donations may be sent to Monte Vista Church, 1735 Old Niles Ferry Rd., Maryville, Tn, 37803 attn: Conduits of Kindness. This ministry will help folk in the community w/simple home maintenance issues or (2) Scholarship accounts for each of the 6 grandchildren have been established, because school was extremely difficult for Larry, even though Christy always said Larry was the smartest man she’d ever know on this side of Heaven. Those funds may be sent to: Christy Breedlove, 3266 Breedlove Ln., Maryville, Tn. 37804. His family would like to publicly acknowledge the AMAZING staff on 4 South of BMH-each & every one of you were a blessing to him & us. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Mr. Larry L.
