Karen Horton

February 10, 1963 — June 23, 2018

KAREN HORTON, 55 of Townsend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 23, 2018. She was a loving partner of 23 years. Karen also was a wonderful caregiver for her Partner’s daughter, Lynn Shelton for 23 years. Karen was raised and lived in Florida until four years ago when purchased her first home in Townsend, TN. It was her and her partner’s dream to live in the country and grow old together. In Florida, Karen previously worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant with various agencies. She also worked in a Pharmaceutical Factory for six years prior to coming to Tennessee. Coming to Tennessee brought her great joy and she loved taking care of her property and home. Going to Dollywood and camping in Cades Cove Campground. And one of her greatest passions was taking care of her many dogs that she loved with all of her heart. Karen is preceded in Death, by her partner Karen Rounds, Her partner’s daughter (which she considered her own daughter), Lynn Shelton, her Brother, Frazier Horton and wife Karla and niece, Lena Horton, Sister Christina Morris and husband Sean, niece Delaney, nephews Hayden and Ean. Sister Andrea Monaco and husband Anthony and Sister Kathy Horton Brown and husband Ted. Sister Joyce Horton Bass and Brother Richard Horton. Karen was a member of the Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church in Townsend. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 3 o’clock at the Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church in Townsend, TN.
